Although he first committed his life to Christ when he was 9, he didn't really started walking with the Lord until he was 17. During and after college, Bob knew that God was calling him into ministry. Bob first served as Associate Pastor at Calvary Chapel Honolulu. Desiring further training, Bob and Becky went to seminary and later ministered in New York. Following God's guidance, Pastor Bob and his family moved to Kaua'i in June of 1996 where he presently pastors, oversees ministries and equips leaders. His ministries include being a husband, father, and undersheperd at CCK. His hidden talents are finances, buying and selling property. His hobbies include spending time with his wife and sons, surfing, hunting, fishing, camping, and running. He enjoys spending time with family and friends at the beach or at their house. Pastor Bob also thrive on Divine Appointments, making friends, going on prayer walks with his wife, sharing the Gospel and helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Bob has two favorite scriptures one, is 2 Chron 20:12 - "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." and Isaiah 26:8 - "Yes, Lord in the way of Your laws, we wait for You; Your name and renown are the desire of our hearts." Bob loves what God is doing, the fruit He is bearing in the people's lives, the incredible people He is gathering together and how Fun we are all having on this Epic Adventure!
Pastor Bruce Baumgartner is married to Janet and they have a grown son and daughter. Bruce serves as the Associate Pastor here at CCK, overseeing the Worship ministry, Youth, Missions, and Administration. Born in Elgin, Illinois, Bruce moved to California while in high school. He committed his life to Christ in the summer of 1975. Later, he sensed God's call on his life during his involvement with Campus Crusade for Christ as a student at San Diego State University, which is where he met his wife Janet. After college, Pastor Bruce served as a worship and youth pastor in California for 15 years in three churches before moving to Kaua'i in Nov. 2003. Pastor Bruce loves surfing, snorkeling, listening to and playing music. He also likes to do home improvement projects, and motorcycle riding with Janet. One of Pastor Bruce's hidden talents is making a tasty grilled cheese sandwich. His favorite scripture is John 3:30 - " He must increase, I must decrease." It's all about Jesus. He deserves all the attention, all the honor, all the praise, all the obedience, all our devotion. What Pastor Bruce loves most about working for CCK is the great staff: "We work well together and enjoy each others company. The congregation we serve is so friendly, loving, generous and fun. We are a true 'Ohana."
Malie de la Cruz is married to Brian and has a grown daughter and son, Alyse and Aaron, who have given her 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter (so far). Malie serves as the church administrator here at CCK since 2003 and also overseeing the Hula ministry. Malie was born in San Jose, CA soon after her parents made their decision to move from Kaua’i to the mainland. Although she grew up in a home where her family attended church she did not know that she was created to enjoy a relationship with Jesus until she was 39 years old. This revelation brought about many changes in her life, including moving to Kaua’i in 1998 where she changed careers and decided to train and become a SCUBA instructor and shop manager for a local dive shop. Because of her extensive background in office management on the mainland she was offered a position with CCK when the then current office assistant decided to move to the mainland to further her education. Working at CCK has helped Malie grow in her walk with the Lord.“ Everyone on staff truly has agape love for one another and encourages each other in their walk. It’s easier to be stretched when you know your brother/sister is right there cheering you on!” Malie loves to be active, still playing softball whenever there’s a chance, scuba diving, singing on the Worship team, dancing, teaching worship hula, and being involved in VBS! One of Malie’s favorite scripture is 2Cor. 1:3-7. Malie loves this scripture “because everyone will experience discouragement and fear, afflictions and trials and God is the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort others. It’s not about me, it’s about others. When Jesus came, He came for others.”
Rachelle "Rae" Nam is a single mom
who loves serving the Lord. She has two daughters Chelsea (26) and
Candiss (24). Born and raised on Kaua'i, she moved to O'ahu at age 12
to attend Kamehameha School. It wasn't until she was 33 that she began
to understand what Jesus Christ did for her at the Cross. Prior to
that, she knew that the Holy Spirit was alive and active in her life
even when she lacked understanding of who Jesus really was and He never
gave up reaching out to Rae. Her true conversion came on the day after
her baptism when she fell on her knees in her bedroom, confessed her
sins and asked for His forgiveness, admitted that she needed and wanted
Him to lead and direct her life because she had no clue how to do it.
There, on her bedroom floor of uncontrollable tears, she received Jesus
Christ as her Lord and Savior. Rachelle returned to live on Kaua'i 35
years after her initial departure. It's been 6 years since she's back
on the island of Kaua'i and she enjoys being with her mom and
ministering at CCK as the Children's Ministry Overseer. Rae loves
working at CCK because "work is not work - it's fun! Everyone gets
involved and you know that God's Word is solid because you see it in
the transformed lives of so many children, youth, adults who fellowship
here. There's nothing like seeing God's Word and His promises come
alive throug the body of Christ. It's amazing!" Her hobbies include
biking, walking, driving around the island and traveling to other
places. She loves Proverbs 3:5-6 -- "Trust in the Lord with all your
heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways
acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths." This is the first
scripture God revealed to Rae and it's the first scripture I ever
memorized.
Pastor Josh Turansky is married to
Melinda and they have two young sons. Born in Mililani, O'ahu in 1981,
Josh grew up in a Christian home and had the privilege of being
discipled by his Grandpa in Hawai'i when he was 13. This experience
laid a solid foundation for Josh, especially in the area of memorizing
scripture. At age 14, his family moved to Kenya, Africa for a year,
which proved to be another monumental experience in his life. After
high school, Josh studied at Calvary Chapel Bible College at Murrieta
and interned with Pastor Bob at CCK in 2000, where Pastor Bob equipped
Josh and Melinda in the area of making disciples. Later in California,
Josh and Melinda married and after working at CCBC for several years,
moved their family to Kaua'i in June 2007 to establish Kaua'i Bible
College. Pastor Josh serves as the Director of the Bible College and
also oversees CCK's Education. When Pastor Josh isn't working, he enjoys talking with his wife, playing with his boys, reading and cooking.

This scripture puts everything into proper perspective for Lon.

Catherine Pennel recently married John Pennel. Born in Manhattan, New York, Cathy worked in New York and San Francisco before moving to Kaua'i in November 2004. While on Kaua'i, Cathy surrendered her life to Christ and began an exciting new journey of faith. While working at U-Turn For Christ, Cathy met John and married him in 2008. Cathy serves as a sales representative for Title and Escrow and is a natural teacher. At CCK, Cathy oversees the Greeters Ministry, loves singing to the Lord, and loves dancing with the hula ministry. Her hobbies include boxing, biking, reading her bible and non-fiction books, cruising the beach, and spending time with her awesome husband! His favorite scripture is Phil. 1:6 -- "being confident of this that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Johnny loves this scripture because "it tells that I can be sure and rest in Christ who made my salvation possible from the very beginning because of what He did at the cross for my sake. It also means to me that I am being sanctified daily under construction, and will one day be glorified with Him forever."
Becky Hallman is married to Bob Hallman and they have two sons. Becky was born in Honolulu and first committed her life to Christ at 4 years of age. Her walk with the Lord was sporadic until she recommitted her life to Christ at the University of Hawai'i as a result of two women from Campus Crusade sharing with Becky. She realized she was a carnal Christian and needed to totally surrender to the Lord. Soon after, she learned how to cultivate her friendship with the Lord through daily Quiet Times and she now loves doing the same for others! After marrying Pastor Bob in 1987, they spent ten years in the northeast, getting further education, ministering at a few churches, and raising their young sons. Becky and her family moved to Kaua'i in 1996 where she enjoys being a wife, mom, and leader of Women's Ministry. She loves equipping women as disciplers and leaders and writing for purpose of helping others. Becky enjoys ministering at CCK and loves the healthy vibrant fellowship at CCK!
